A written, drawn and photographic record of an archaeological site or monument often forms part of our standard reports, where necessary. Archaeological survey can also be carried out for specific projects and pilot surveys where the client has a particular objective in mind. For example, in order to assess the impact of development in a rapidly growing town over a certain period of time or to establish the effectiveness of the planning process in the protection of the archaeological heritage.
We can carry out archaeological survey for a wide range of monument types including those of a built nature and earthworks. Specifically this may include, castles, tower houses, churches, holy wells, ringforts, souterrains (underground passages and chambers), fulachta fiadh (burnt mounds), cairns, megalithic structures and standing stones etc.
